Located immediately adjacent to downtown Jackson, Riverfront Park transforms approximately 30 acres of underutilized industrial property and a former municipal landfill into a regional public park, trail destination, ecological preserve, and civic gathering space. The vision establishes the foundation for a new riverfront district centered on recreation, conservation, and public access while preserving the site as publicly accessible open space for future generations.

Through volunteer programs, philanthropy, public engagement, and partnerships, The Jackson River District Partnership works to ensure the riverfront becomes a destination for recreation, ecology, culture, and everyday life.

Through connected trails, waterfront access, restored wetlands, overlooks, and gathering spaces, the park will create new opportunities for residents and visitors to walk, bike, paddle, explore nature, and experience the Pearl River in the heart of Mississippi's capital city. Riverfront Park represents one of the most significant opportunities in Mississippi to expand equitable access to outdoor recreation while permanently reconnecting people with the Pearl River.

Connecting Downtown to Nature Through Parks & TrailsRiverfront Park is planned as the anchor of Jackson's expanding parks and trails network. The design connects the Museum Trail Greenway, the future River District Connector, downtown streets, and the Pearl River through a system of universally accessible trails and public spaces. Recreation, ecological restoration, and civic gathering areas are integrated throughout the site, creating opportunities for environmental education and everyday enjoyment of the river while strengthening connections between surrounding neighborhoods and downtown.
